Mortgage Rates Ease
For the week ending November 30, 30-year rates fell to 6.49% from 6.58% the week before.

Rates continued their slide in response to less hawkish words from the Fed Chair. For the week ending November 30, 30-year rates fell to 6.49% from 6.58% the week before. In addition, 15-year loans decreased to 5.76%. A year ago, 30-year fixed rates averaged 3.11%, more than 3.25% lower than today. Attributed to Sam Khater, Chief Economist, Freddie Mac, “Mortgage rates continued to drop this week as optimism grows around the prospect that the Federal Reserve will slow its pace of rate hikes. Even as rates decrease and house prices soften, economic uncertainty continues to limit homebuyer demand as we enter the last month of the year.”
